1) Advertising
Do not post messages with the sole purpose of publizicing a website or soliciting a product or service. References to web sites and resources directly related to the current discussion are encouraged. Personal URLs in signatures are allowed.

2) Tone of discussion
Posters should take care to maintain discussion/debate and avoid bickering/quarrels. Many people of different tastes and points of view come into contact on the internet. Flames and other abusive language are not tolerated.

3) Language
Posters are held to a certain standard of legibility. Non-native English speakers are very welcome, but sloppy and lazy writers should proofread their posts as a courtesy to others. Excessive pointless vulgarity is discouraged, as is excessive punctuation.

4) Closed/Removed threads
The administrator reserves the right to close any thread or remove any post that he considers inappropriate.

5) Multiple accounts
You are allowed one AsciiSector.Net account. If there is an issue with your account, please contact the administrator via email or PM. Under no circumstances are users allowed to register a second account. Multiple accounts will be closed without warning. If multiple users are signing up from the same location, they must contact the administrator prior to registration.

6) Warez
Linking to, offering, requesting or hinting at the whereabouts of warez, abandonwarez, copying games or other illegal content can result in immediate banning.

7) Misleading posts
Posts that are meant to intentionally mislead the administrator (for example fake bug reports or lying about multiple accounts) will result in immediate banning.

8) Circumventing/Removing bans
Any attempt to circumvent an AsciiSector.Net forum ban will result in permanent revocation of posting privileges. In the event that a ban is removed, formerly banned users are considered to be on probation. Permanent banning may result from further disorderly conduct or disturbance.

9) Guest posting
The AsciiSector.Net forum allows guest posting. This is primarily to be used for players with a simple question or comment. If you plan to become a fairly steady member of the forum, please consider signing up for an account, as it will make it a lot easier for other members to identify your posts. If your account has been banned, you are not allowed to guest post. Doing so will result in permanent banning.

10) Ranks
You rise in rank by posting. This is not to encourage pointless posts, but to acknowledge posters who have contributed a lot to the forum.Rookie: 0-49 posts
Experienced: 50-199 posts
Veteran: 200-999 posts
Ace: 1000+ posts
Custom Rank: Members with 2000+ posts may choose a custom rank. PM the administrator to receive your custom rank.
BANNED: Permanently or temporarily banned user.

11) Member identities
The administrator reserves the right to reveal your identity (or whatever other information he may know about you) in the event of a complaint or legal action arising from any message posted by you.

12) Complaints
If you believe that the administrator has made a mistake in regard to various forum rules, policies, procedures or actions, protests are not to be done on the forums. You should use email or PM to contact the administrator. Any messages posted on the forums for this purpose will be deleted, and the person responsible may be banned.
